There is a very increasing usage of forklifts every part of industry either it’s the manufacturers or traffic regulatory authorities. There should be an intense care and maintenance educates that power the Forklift Batteries to ensure the best performance and longevity of the battery usage.

Here are some useful tips to ensure the longevity of the product

1. The key element is charging the battery at the right point of time. Before charging the forklift battery, do make sure to discharge the battery up to 80%. Forklift batteries have vary in this way that you do not really need to charge them daily basis rather when they need to charge after 80% consumption of the total battery.

2. We all know the maintenance of the fluid level is really important for the longevity of the battery's life. By consuming the battery after 80% of usage might damage it. Check the water level of the battery after every five charges and make sure that the water level is just high enough to cover the plates within the battery. Add up a little water as necessary up to the mark as it has recommended. Never fill the battery full or higher than the marked level because there should be an extra space needed for the expansion. Only use the distilled water while filling the battery. Make sure that water doesn’t contain any floating particles.

3. Cleaning is an essential part for any battery's life. Clean the battery cabinet regularly it will prevent from any kind of rusting. If there is any material overflowing from the battery, rinse it immediately.

4. Make a "don't list" for the best maintenance of your forklift's battery. Never discharge the battery exceeding 80%. This is one of the biggest factors which shorten the battery's life. Charge the battery immediately after it hits 80% consumption. Never let the battery unused up to one day after discharged level. It’s even better if you connect it to an automatic dribble charger. 

An automatic dribble charger will provide long lasting results in longevity of your battery's life.
